Rome – An emotion, more than a visit, accomplices the light, the silence of the night that extends its muted steps on the Vatican collections, between the courtyards and corridors that were in the centuries catwalk of the popes and the most illustrious artists of history, to the rhythm of pizzica or of an Argentine tango.
The Pope's Museums renew the appointment with the night openings, offering the public, from April 20 to October 26 the opportunity to visit their precious masterpieces even in the moonlight. The appointment with the visits by night is every Friday from 19 to 23, with last admission at 21.30

To increase the suggestion of this walk in an unusual time – away from the rhythms whirlwind of the mass tourism circuits, dedicated to anyone who wants to benefit without rushing the cultural heritage that the Museums contain – will be the presence of live music.

Museidisera Arte, Musica is indeed the musical review fruit of the collaboration between the Vatican Museums and the Italian National Music Committee (CIDIM) that will embellish evening visits through a series of concert initiatives included in the cost of the normal ticket. From the Argentine Tango to the singing of the choirs, from Nello Salza's trumpet to the Salento pizzica, the Pope's Museums celebrate, at least one night a week, the perfect combination of music and art.

The concerts – lasting about an hour and starting at 20 – will be hosted in the elegant setting of the Cortile della Pigna – with the Palazzo del Belvedere returned to the public in its original color thanks to a grand restoration just ended – and among the Greek and Roman sculptures exhibited in the Gregoriano Profano Museum .
Classical music will be the protagonist, with the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, in the Salone di Raffaello .

It starts on Friday, April 20, with the band of the bersaglieri of Aprilia "Adelchi Cotterli" that, before performing in music of the Italian repertoire, will play its own anthem marching in steps through the galleries of the Museums.

«I appeal especially to young people: do not miss this opportunity – says Barbara Jatta, director of the Vatican Museums -. I am convinced that there is nothing more surprising than to immerse oneself in the beauty of the Vatican collections lit up by the moon, which overlooks the Basilica di San Pietro. The arts in dialogue with each other, the doors open to the heart and eyes. I am sure you will be thrilled and going out with you will bring something precious and unexpected ".
